Now that the pantomime is over, we look now to our spring play. Originally Terence Rattigan’s Seperate Tables was to be next but at the general meeting it was not very well supported. It was opened to the floor as to what other people would like to do and Happy Families by John Godber was suggested and it was agreed that if it could be cast, that is what we would do.
We read through the play on Wednesday and thoroughly enjoyed it; it is very funny. Some of us auditionned after the reading and further auditions were held on the Thursday. We have been on tenterhooks ever since. I don’t like
waiting to know who has what. Very impatient I know. We will hopefully find out tonight. I expect we have problems casting one of the men. It is frequently the way. Then you have to fit your female actors around the men you have. It can be so difficult sometimes. I’ll let you know what happens……
